The CalECSE Award Recipients
During each symposium, the California Early Childhood Special Education Network honors an individual and an organization for their significant contributions to early childhood special education. The ‘Be the One’ award celebrates an individual who demonstrates unwavering dedication, creativity, and compassion in providing high-quality supports or services to children with diverse abilities. The ‘Spotlight on Excellence’ award honors an organization that creates inclusive environments, implements innovative interventions or fosters meaningful connections with families. These recipients are champions for our youngest learners.

On October 20 and 21, 2026 nearly 1,000 early childhood special education leaders, educators, service providers, and family partners gathered for two inspiring days of learning, connection, and collaboration in the heart of the San Franscisco Bay Area.
